Add another honor to the Scotty Hopson resume.
The University Heights standout was named Kentucky’s Player of the Year yesterday on the Associated Press All-State team, picked by members of the media.
Hopson, Madisonville’s Jon Hood, Bryan Station’s Shelvin Mack, Mason County’s Darius Miller and Paintsville’s Landon Slone were named to the first-team All-State team.
The second team consisted of: UHA’s Tyshwan Edmondson, Holmes’ Arrez Henderson, Madison Central’s Aaron Morris, Lexington Catholic’s Nathan Novosel and June Buchanan’s Clark Stepp.
Fern Creek’s Monique Reid was the girls’ Player of the Year, joined on the first team by Butler’s Tia Gibbs, Lexington Catholic’s Natalie Novosel, Warren East’s Ashley Rainey and Graves County’s Brittany Young.
